Sub-project "Joint research projects of waste management and utilization between Finland and Russia" under the Anjalankoski Ekopark Interreg project.

Anjalankoski Ekopark got the Interreg financing for the co-operation with Leningrad Oblast Ecopark-project. The co-operation is meant to promote information and know-how change between north-west Russia and south-east Finland in the field of solid waste management. The project includes development of co-operation for example in the fields of research, training and education and enterprise co-operation. Our task is to find co-operation possibilities and develop projects in the field of SWM research.

The objectives of the sub-project are to:
- identify 7-12 important and challenging research topics concerning SWM in Finland and Russia (April-June 2004)
- make the project plans for 2-4 of these studies (June - September 2004)
- find the cooperation partners for these studies and apply financing for them (June-October 2004)
- carry out those research projects which get the financing (October 2004 - December 2006)
- evaluate the results of the studies (June-December 2006)
- make the plans for further measures (June-December 2006).
